The Senior High youth ministry program (Grades 9-12) incorporates a biblical and spiritual foundation into a fun, loving, challenging and supportive environment. We do this through our Sunday School program and other events. Take a look!

Wednesday Night Drop-In

Each Wednesday evening throughout the school year, youth have the opportunity to “drop-in.” They gather for an unstructured time of fellowship with one another. Not only is this a time that Lancaster Church of the Brethren (LCOB) youth can connect, but also a friendly environment where other youth can explore LCOB and what it may mean to be a follower of Christ. Senior High are welcome to stay for as long or as little of that time as they would like; that's what makes it a “drop-in.”

Senior High Drop-in meets Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00pm in the Youth Room (Rm. 212).

Summer Trips

At Lancaster COB we have a 4 year rotation for summer trips. Here is the rotation:

  • International Workcamp
  • Disaster Relief Workcamp
  • National Youth Conference
  • Denominational Workcamp

This past summer (2009) was our Disaster Relief Workcamp. We did this through Christian Endeavor in Salyersville, KY. We were able to assist a food pantry in Paintsville, Kentucky by organizing and cleaning their facilities. In addition, we were asked to help distribute the food to the local people. It was our pleasure to assist these people in whatever way we were needed.

This coming summer (2010) we will be traveling to our denominational National Youth Conference in Ft. Collins , Colorado. We will have the opportunity to interact with thousands of youth among the Church of the Brethren across the nation. Powerful speakers and great worship will be a part of our experience. In traveling out there by bus, we will also have the opportunity to see some different parts of the U.S. by visiting the St. Louis Zoo, Garden of the Gods in Colorado and the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs . We are really excited for this trip as we see different parts of the U.S. and grow closer to God.

Sunday Sundaes occurs one Sunday evening every other month with a speaker that shares a portion or their entire faith journey. After the speaker we enjoy delectable ice cream sundaes.
